Communities We Serve

Two rural worlds, named specifically.

We don't serve a generic 'overseas need'. We serve people in places you can point to on a map - underserved rural America, and the high valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan in northern Pakistan.

United States

Rural, underserved America

Communities where the nearest clinic is a county away, food access is thin, housing stock is aging, and a single setback - an illness, a layoff, a storm - can strike all four fronts at once. As each US program opens, we will name the specific counties and communities it serves, and report what was done there.

Pakistan

Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan

High-altitude valleys in Pakistan's far north, where winters are long, clinics are scarce, and treatable conditions - like cataracts - still end working lives. Our first field program, a cataract camp in Skardu, is planned for fall 2026. This is where our field reporting will begin.

Skardu, Gilgit-BaltistanFall 2026

First field program: a cataract camp in Skardu.

Treatable cataracts still end working lives in the high valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan. This camp restores sight - and reports back what happened and what it cost, patient by patient.

Funding status

The camp is planned for fall 2026. Per-surgery costs and a fundraising target will be published here as soon as they are confirmed by our board and local partners. Until then, no numbers are invented.

For the diaspora

If your family comes from these valleys, this is a way back.

Many of our donors built lives in America while carrying a tie to rural Pakistan. Sethi Foundation exists so that success here can reach back to where it started - through one American organisation, accountable under US law, working on both sides of the world.

How we show people

Outcomes and dignity - the work, not the suffering.

When we publish images, they will show working clinics, shared meals, and rebuilt homes - people who look like what they are: capable partners. Always with consent. Never staged pity, never generic stock.

Field photography

First real images: fall 2026, Skardu

No field photography exists yet, so none appears here. We will capture our first real images at the Skardu cataract camp - and we will never fabricate scenes or results to fill the gap.

Stories from the field

Told outcome-first, with consent - after our first programs

Beneficiary stories will appear here once there are real ones to tell: what changed, what it cost, and what the person did with the ground they regained. Each will be shared with permission, on the storyteller's terms.
